Regarding the Champagne Philipponnat Blanc de Blancs 2018
Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2018 is a pure cuvée (première presse) blend of Chardonnay Premiers and Grands Crus. This is a unique opportunity to discover a variation on the House style in the form of a great Blanc de Blancs champagne, as this champagne is an exception at Philipponnat, which has made Pinot Noir its signature.
This Champagne is vinified in the traditional way, with part of the wine made in oak (38%). A low dosage (4.25 g/l) is added to maintain the balance between freshness and vinosity, without masking the champagne's character or purity.
Six years of ageing have added aromatic richness and a silky texture to the natural tension of these Chardonnays. The bubbles are extremely fine. The nose is delicate and fine. It offers notes of citrus and, with aeration, of pastry. Fresh and creamy on the palate, with citrus and licorice aromas. The finish is persistent, with a pleasant iodine note and good length.
If you wish to enjoy it now, it would be ideal as an aperitif or to accompany fish and shellfish, and if you wish to keep it, you can do so for at least five years.
