On the heights of Montigny-sous-Châtillon, in the Marne region, Faustine and Marc Konrat produce gourmet champagnes of great precision on a 7-hectare estate. The terroir is sand-limestone and clay-limestone, the best for producing wonderful, highly distinctive champagnes.
Marc Konrat comes from a family of winegrowers. His grandfather already farmed these Champagne vines, which had lain dormant for 50 years.
Only grapes from the best family plots such as Le clos des menues raies, La pierre Saint-Philippe, La haie Benoît and Le Grain de sel are selected and vinified. This is where grapes are born, offering just the right balance between aromatic power and persistent minerality.
A passionate and experienced winegrower, concerned with preserving the terroir and the environment, Marc works his vines with the "Haute Valeur Environnementale" label, and in a few years' time with "Agriculture Biologique".
The grapes are partially vinified in the winery, which consists of 50% oak barrels from the Champagne cooperage, 40% stainless steel vats, 10% terracotta amphorae and a few "dames jeanne". Reserve wines are vinified according to the solera principle. All stages are carried out according to the lunar calendar, then the future nectar is aged for a long time in the cellar to offer a totally new tasting experience. The sole aim of this qualitative selection is to produce a great Champagne wine.
Whether you're a lover of great champagnes, curious, a connoisseur or a hedonist, come and discover the passion of a champagne haute-couture craftsman.
