With 230 hectares of vineyards in Champagne, it is the 2nd-largest Champagne producer in terms of sales, both in France and abroad. Heidsieck & C° Monopole champagne has always been recognized as one of the most prestigious by kings, emperors and aristocrats. It was once the licensed supplier to the King of Prussia and the Emperor of Germany (1818), the Court of England (1911), the Court of Sweden and King Gustav (1933), and Tsar Nicholas II, whose orders for his private cellar reached 400,000 bottles a year.
By 1895, Heidsieck & C° Monopole was already shipping over 1.5 million bottles worldwide, and its champagnes were already considered by connoisseurs to be great wines.
