Champagne LENOBLE, an independent house that is becoming a benchmark
Lenoble is an independent Champagne house, renowned for its demanding style, whose reputation is growing by the day. This champagne house is well on the way to becoming one of the benchmarks for great Champagne.
Founded in 1920 and based from the outset in Damery, the house's historic terroir, Maison Lenoble relies on three major terroirs: Damery for the meuniers, Bisseuil, a village classified as Premier Cru, for the pinots noirs, and Chouilly, classified as Grand Cru, for the chardonnays. This diversity, combined with confidential production and demanding choices, forges the house's singular identity. When you buy Champagne Lenoble, you're buying from a house ranked among the top 20 producers of Blanc de Blancs by Robert Parker for its Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs and Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs millésimé cuvées.
Nothing alters the purity of its champagnes, which are now all offered as Extra Brut, with very low dosage - even non-existent for certain cuvées - and partial ageing in wood. The owners of the Lenoble champagne brand assert their artisanal dimension as a quality asset. They have chosen to perpetuate this tradition by offering a wide range of wines for sale in three universes: the multi-millennial Vendanges cuvées, largely driven by reserve wines, such as Extra Brut, Dosage Zéro, Rosé and Blanc de Blancs; the vintage champagnes, with Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs; and finally, the Prestige cuvées.
The latest cuvée, "Les Aventures", named after a locality in Chouilly, holds its cork in place not with wire, but with string, as was done in the early days of Champagne. The qualities of the terroir are also sublimated by Cuvée Gentilhomme. Made from Chardonnay from the finest plots, and produced only in the best years, Cuvée Gentilhomme Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is a hymn to the nobility of Champagne wines.
