Regarding the Champagne Philipponnat Réserve Perpétuelle Non Dosé Magnum
Crystal-clear and uncompromising, the “Non Dosé” Perpetual Reserve candidly expresses (with no sugar added during the dosage) the quality of Philipponnat’s non-vintage blends. In fact, the current year’s wine is blended with those from previous years to offer greater complexity while retaining the freshness provided by the new vintage.
This brut nature champagne is made primarily from Grand Crus and Premiers Crus. The blend features Pinot Noir (66%), complemented by 32% Chardonnay and 2% Meunier, 56% of which comes from previous vintages aged in oak. The absence of sugar highlights the balance between the wine’s freshness, richness, and purity.
After three years of aging, this champagne with its fine mousse reveals notes of hawthorn and vine blossoms on the nose. On the palate, the pure and crisp attack reveals citrus aromas. The finish is beautifully long.
When paired with food, it ensures that the natural flavors of the dishes are never masked by residual sugar, however minimal. It is a refreshing aperitif that pairs perfectly with raw fish and seafood.
Réserve Perpétuelle Non Dosé expresses its full vibrancy within 6 to 18 months after disgorgement. It is also a wine capable of aging for several years.
