Regarding the Champagne Billecart - Salmon Cuvée Louis Salmon 2013
Purity, minerality, and elegance define this vintage Blanc de Blancs from Louis Salmon. Made exclusively from Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes from the Côte des Blancs, it blends Cramant, Chouilly, Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Oiry—four complementary terroirs that combine finesse, freshness, structure, and depth. An exceptional cuvée, vinified in stainless steel tanks and aged on its lees for 114 months.
Its crystalline color gives way to an elegant nose with notes of white flowers, hazelnut, crisp pear, and orange blossom, set against a delicate chalky backdrop. On the palate, the texture is creamy, precise, and refined, carried by a lovely freshness and notes of brioche, mirabelle plum, and fresh pineapple. The finish, remarkably long, reveals nuances of mandarin, blond tobacco, and white pepper. The low dosage of 4 g/L aptly highlights the purity and integrity of the Chardonnay.
The 2013 vintage fully expresses the nobility of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs: a year that has produced a straightforward, mineral, precise, and deep Champagne, where the terroir’s natural freshness harmonizes with beautiful ripeness and exceptional length.
Ideal for special dining occasions, this champagne is best served between 10 and 12 °C, either on its own to appreciate its full complexity or paired with refined dishes such as veal sweetbreads, Breton abalones, or glasswort. This cuvée is also perfectly suited as an exceptional aperitif.
Already magnificently developed thanks to its long aging in the cellar, the Louis Salmon 2013 has an aging potential of more than 10 years.
