Regarding the Champagne Leclerc Briant Abyss 2018
Unique ! In collaboration with Amphoris, a company specialized in underwater operations, champagne House Leclerc Briant created the Abyss cuvée, with the 2018 harvest, which is specifically dedicated for underwater aging.
Grapes are selected for their famous chalky soils, in perfect harmony with the sedimentary marine basement of Stiff Bay, near Ouessant island in Brittany.
This outstanding cuvée is equally elaborated from Chardonnay, Pinots noirs and Pinot Meunier.
Exclusively from the 2018 harvest, bottled in June 2019, disgorged in winter 2022 and immersed in summer of the same year, Abyss was pumped up a year later.
We discover a champagne animated by fine bubbles. On the nose, the ripeness of the fruit is evident, along with marine and menthol notes, and after aeration we discover notes of lemon in particular. On the palate, a velvety, fruity texture is enhanced by fine acidity.
The tasting reveals a cuvée marked by the influence of the bright 2018 vintage, a powerful champagne with marine evocations.
This cuvée will pair superbly with Atlantic oysters, raw salmon or roasted Saint-Pierre...
