Regarding the Champagne Leclerc Briant Abyss 2016 magnum
Unique ! In collaboration with Amphoris, a company specialized in underwater operations, champagne House Leclerc Briant created the Abyss cuvée, with the 2016 harvest, which is specifically dedicated for underwater aging, here in magnum.
Grapes are selected for their famous chalky soils, in perfect harmony with the sedimentary marine basement of Stiff Bay, near Ouessant island in Brittany.
This outstanding cuvée is equally elaborated from Chardonnay, Pinots noirs and Pinot Meunier.
Exclusively sourced from the 2016 harvest, disgorged in 2020 and then submerged under the sea in August of the same year. Abyss 2016 was raised from the depths in August 2021.
At first sight, this champagne shows fine and live bubbles, announcing a rich and fresh wine. On the nose, you discover a deep and concentrated sensation.
The palate is sharp and fresh, with a creamy effervescence. The champagne develops a fruity structure, underlined by a citrus acidity. The finish is harmonious and echoes the delicacy of limestone. The saline imprint is clearly noticeable.
The tasting demonstrates the perfect know-how of the house, revealing a sandy and mineral signature.
This magnum is the ideal partner of Atlantic oysters, raw salmon or a grilled John Dory fish…
Cuvée Abyss 2016 from Maison Leclerc Briant is presented in its free and elegant wooden box.
