Cuvée UMAMI Extra-Brut 2009 in magnum is issued from several particular climates carefully selected in the Great Growthsoil (terroir) of the House DE SOUSA.
This cuvée was especially elaborated to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Zoémie de Sousa range.
UMAMI is an Extra-Brut champagne that leaves a soft and long-lasting sensation: simply inimitable! De Sousa champagne's style has always been in a velvet texture : this notion of UMAMI discovered by the Japanese also mentions it : length, depth, velvet, minerality and sapidity.
Biodynamics strongly contributes to enhace UMAMI flavours by increasing the life of the soil. As in the land of the plots carefully selected for this cuvée, we can talk of consistency for this champagne generated by the natural elements of grapes issued from old vines.
This rare cuvée in magnum is an exquisite champagne for an intense pleasure !

Champagne De Sousa
The De Sousa Champagne House has been in the family for 3 generations. The vineyards cover 14 hectares in the heart of the famous Côte des Blancs, terroirs classified as Grand Cru.
The champagnes are produced in the traditional way, with hand-picked grapes from vines three quarters of which are over 45 years old, giving Maison de Sousa champagnes an extraordinary aromatic richness. The work in the vineyards has always been carried out with respect for nature and the environment, and it was only natural that the House should switch to Biodynamic viticulture in 1999, and be certified organic in 2010.
