Regarding the Champagne Lombard Brut Nature Verzenay Grand Cru Lieu-dit « Les Corettes »
This 100% Pinot noir Brut Nature from Maison Lombard comes from a Grand Cru terroir of the "Les Corettes" plot. This cuvée is part of the “Terroir” range, a plot selection and mono-crus in Brut Nature.
The wines spend four to five years in the cellar, which effectively allows a beautiful expression of the terroir. The plot is facing west and therefore exposed at the hottest time of the day, which gives the wine a beautiful structure and a strong aromatic intensity of red fruits.
This cuvée reveals aromas of redcurrant and pear jelly. On the palate, the pear is faithful to the nose, surrounded by notes of mirabelle plum, redcurrant and citrus. The Pinot Noir gives weight, texture and almost a hint of tannins to the champagne.
The lingering finish of this Brut Nature Verzenay Grand Cru Lieu-dit "Les Corettes" champagne makes you want to enjoy this cuvée on roasted quail with currants, pork, rich fish such as salmon, shellfish, or mild cheeses.
