Regarding the Champagne Canard Duchene Léonie Iconic
Léonie Iconic pays tribute to Léonie Duchêne, co-founder of Maison Canard-Duchêne, and elegantly embodies the House’s gastronomic ambition. Léonie Iconic champagne now comes in a bottle with a unique silhouette that embodies the expertise and passion of Canard-Duchêne, passed down since 1868 by its founders. Beyond its undeniable aesthetic appeal, the bottle’s curve offers numerous oenological benefits at various stages of the winemaking process.
As for the cuvée, it is distinguished by a blend dominated by Pinot Noir (40%), complemented by 35% Chardonnay and 25% Meunier. It brings together wines from carefully selected terroirs such as Ludes, Verzy, Vertus, Sermiers, and Épernay. Its signature also lies in the inclusion of 50% of wines from a perpetual reserve established in 2012, with the oldest wine dating back to 2009, giving the blend remarkable depth and great consistency of style.
Tasting reveals a refined, harmonious, and elegant champagne, built around the nobility of Pinot Noir and the freshness of Chardonnay. Aging in the cellar for at least three years, combined with the richness of the perpetual reserve, gives the wine greater depth and complexity while preserving its balance. With a dosage of less than 7 g/l, Léonie Iconic offers a precise and delicate profile, where freshness and finesse express themselves naturally.
It is ideal as an aperitif for lovers of elegant champagnes, but truly reveals its full character when paired with seafood, delicate fish, shellfish, gently roasted poultry, or white meats. This cuvée is also well-suited for a gourmet dinner or an elegant reception.
Already captivating for its balance and finesse, Léonie Iconic also offers interesting aging potential thanks to its high proportion of reserve wines and its cellaring. When stored under optimal conditions, away from light and temperature fluctuations, it can be enjoyed now or allowed to continue aging for 3 to 5 years.
