Regarding the Champagne Canard Duchene P181
Cuvée P181 from Maison Canard-Duchêne is an extra-brut champagne. It comes from an ECOCERT-certified organic vineyard. This makes Maison Canard-Duchêne one of the pioneers of organic champagne.
This champagne is made from 43% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Meunier and 24% Pinot Noir, including 30% reserve wines. The Chardonnays are vinified in oak barrels to obtain complexity and power. The low dosage (4g/l) reveals the fullness and minerality of the wine to express its aromatic richness.
After three years' cellar aging, P181 is a subtle, airy champagne expressive of terroir. A wine of freshness contrasted by the roundness of fruit. Notes of citrus and yellow fruit mingle with those of mirabelle plum and candied lemon to form a very well-balanced, aromatic wine.
Traditionally enjoyed as an aperitif, this Extra-brut Champagne is also the perfect accompaniment to scampi carpaccio or scallops with beurre blanc.
You can enjoy it now, or cellar it for 2-3 years.
