Regarding the Champagne Canard Duchene Cuvée Léonie Brut
Cuvée Léonie is a tribute to the winemaker Léonie Duchêne, whose wedding to the cooper Jérôme Canard, resulted in the foundation of the House in 1868. Cuvée Léonie is distinguished by an astonishing maturity and a unique style. This is the result of a blend raised for 3 years in cellar, and elaborated from 20% Chardonnay, 30% Meunier and moreover, 50% of Pinot Noir, offering an excellent structure and richness.
To the eye, it unveils a pale gold color, and offers a complex nose, combining fragrances of yellow fruits, exotic fruits, dry flowers and gingerbread.
On the palate, this champagne develops candied pineapple aromas, toasted flavors, with a touch of spice and resulting in fresh and balanced champagne of a great length.
Cuvée Léonie is perfect for the aperitif, for the begining of the meal with foie gras, and during the meal with fine dishes such as a slightly smoked duck, a seabass or poultry with summer truffle.
