Regarding the Champagne Chartogne-taillet Heurtebise
Maison Chartogne-Taillet's Cuvée Heurtebise is made from the very fine 2022 harvest, a warm, generous year with ripe yet fresh fruit.
It's a Blanc de Blancs champagne made exclusively from Chardonnays grown on the "Les Heurtes Bises" plot - a rarity! It's a highly sought-after parcel-based cuvée, distinguished by its limestone and sandstone soil. As always in this House, the soil is worked with respect for nature, place and origin...
This champagne is dosed as Extra-Brut (1.85 gr/l) to rebalance the aggressiveness and vigor of the bubbles without hiding or fattening the wine and its density. A true Champagne with identity, terroir, precision and minerality, with a nose of ripe citrus fruit and white flowers, a straightforward, saline palate and a long, chalky finish.
Bottled in July 2023 and disgorged in May 2026, this grand champagne has been aged in barrel for 9 months. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif, but will also make a wonderful companion to a meal, with scallop carpaccio, grilled sea bass or poultry with morel mushrooms.
