How Champagne Day came about
Champagne Day was born in 2009, when Californian blogger Chris Oggenfuss called for a special day to celebrate the love of champagne. With a huge online community of champagne lovers, the hashtag #champagneday quickly gained ground among champagne enthusiasts.
Over the years, more and more people have celebrated Le Champagne Day, posting photos of their favorite bubbles and sharing festive moments celebrated around champagne around the world.
Lately, Champagne Day has been so successful that the Comité Champagne has added an official page to its website, providing a platform for restaurants, wine shops, wine schools, etc. to feature all the events scheduled for that day on the calendar and promote them to a global community of champagne lovers.
Lovers of the most prestigious bubbles can consult the online and offline calendar of events to find interesting champagne tastings, champagne-based menus, champagne master classes or cellar tours via the official Champagne Day website.
How to celebrate Champagne Day?
As a champagne lover, you probably have your own preferences when it comes to tasting your favorite vintages. And fortunately, champagne adapts perfectly to a myriad of venues, scenarios, cuisines and people.
At Envie de Champagne, we take as much pleasure in sharing our discoveries with other champagne-loving friends as we do in uncorking a bottle on a quiet evening on the terrace or sofa.
If you'd prefer to immerse yourself in the festive and joyous atmosphere of this special day, you can also take part in a champagne event in your town, or why not organize a special tasting in your own home.
