Champagne Rare Millésime 2012 expresses the signature of the RARE house in a vintage as iconic as the 2002 vintage, with its solar minerality.
This prestige cuvée is composed of Chardonnay for freshness and minerality, and Pinot Noir for fruit and structure.
The rich nose is initially greedy, with aromas of brioche in particular. After aeration, it reveals spicy notes. On the palate, this greediness is repeated. Citrus flavors assert themselves in a silky texture. The mineral finish is extraordinarily long.
Rare vintage 2012 has great ageing potential, at least 20 years, and if you enjoy it now, it will go wonderfully with a filet of sole meunière, a carpaccio of scallops or simply a fine poultry dish.
A real jewel, produced in very small quantities, it's also an extraordinary bottle, a work of goldsmith, a work of art decorated with finely chiseled gold lace reminiscent of the vine.
