Cuvée Mareuil sur Ay 2008 is the second fragmented cuvée from Maison Philipponnat. Only 3339 bottles produced for this fabulous 2008 vintage !
It represents the sharpest expression of the best plots of Mareuil Sur Ay, the own vineyard of the house, and 100% Pinot Noir.
Bubbles are fine, the nose is very fruity while the palate is full and gourmand.
This cuvée is dosed as an Extra-Brut (4,5 gr/l) in order to maintain the delicate balance between freshness and vinosity, thus, it does not alter the wine’s character and purity.
This cuvée has been raised for at least 7 years to obtain a greater complexity and to highlight the second and third aromas, sign of a prolonged aging on lees.
The ideal tasting temperature for this Blanc de Noirs is between 8 and 9 °c for the aperitif, and around 10 to 12°C during the meal. It is delicious when served with white meats, feather game or soft cheeses.
This champagne can be stored in your cellar up to 10 years !

Champagne Philipponnat
Owner of vineyards since the beginning of the 16th century, the Philipponnat House is located in the heart of the Champagne region in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. Since 1910, the family uses the best grapes mainly from grands crus and premiers crus, always harvested more ripe than the Champagne average and the undeniable desire to work as naturally as possible.
Champagne Philipponnat: these are extraordinary vintages, fermented and aged in barrels, which remains exceptional in Champagne. Ancestral know-how that have been passed down from generation to generation.
The Philipponnat house has been awarded a third star by the Guide des meilleurs Vins de France.
