Regarding the Champagne Dom Perignon Vintage 2018 Damien Hirst Limited Edition
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2018 is an exceptional cuvée from a remarkable vintage, enhanced by a limited-edition design created in collaboration with contemporary artist Damien Hirst. His “Kaleidoscope Shield” motif boldly reinterprets the famous Dom Pérignon shield. 2018 also marks Vincent Chaperon’s first vintage as Cellar Master of the House.
2018 will be remembered as an extraordinary and ideal year in Champagne. The harvest, one of the earliest in Champagne’s recent history, yielded grapes of exceptional ripeness and perfect health.
On the nose, the Champagne reveals a rich and deep expression, driven by the juicy fruits of a summer orchard and tropical notes of yellow kiwi and mango. Herbal and balsamic nuances add freshness and complexity. On the palate, the wine is dense, full-bodied, and generous, supported by lovely liveliness and a subtle hint of bitterness. The elegant and lingering finish unfolds with delicate notes of apricot.
This cuvée is naturally at home on special occasions and during exclusive tasting experiences. It pairs elegantly with fine fish, shellfish, delicate poultry, or gourmet dishes, but can also be enjoyed on its own to fully appreciate the complexity of its character.
After nearly eight years of aging on the lees, Dom Pérignon Vintage 2018 already possesses remarkable depth. When stored under optimal conditions, it has excellent aging potential of at least 10 to 15 years and will continue to evolve, gradually revealing new aromatic nuances.
