Regarding the Champagne Louis Roederer Cristal 2015 luxury casket
Cuvée Cristal is the flagship of Maison Louis Roederer, founded in 1876, and the 2015 vintage follows the continental trend with champagnes that are structured, ripe and fresh.
Cristal is only made in "great years", when the maturity of the Chardonnay (around 40%) and Pinot Noir (around 60%) that make it up is perfect. It brings together Grands Crus from Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs, 32% of which are aged in wood.
2015 was a warm year, giving us juicy, ripe, concentrated grapes with great balance. Cristal 2015 reveals a chalky temperament, and for the first time since 2002, is made from all 45 parcels over twenty years old.
After 6 years' ageing in the cellar and 8 months' rest after disgorgement, Cristal 2015 is remarkable for its balance.
The nose reveals aromas of yellow fruit, red fruit and toasted almond. This is followed by aromas of candied citrus and iodized spices. The chalky character of the vintage shines through in a bracing effervescence of insistent freshness. The finish, supported by woody and saline notes, offers delicacy and concentration. Cristal 2015 has a remarkable balance between the limestone dimension of its soils and the solar character of the vintage.
Cristal 2015 has immense cellaring potential. It can be kept for over twenty years without losing its freshness and character.
It's a great Champagne wine, the perfect accompaniment to exceptional fish and shellfish dishes such as lobster. A legend to give as a gift or to treat yourself, in its superb luxury box.
