A family affair... and a passion
For the Bergère family, champagne is an affair of the heart. For several generations, the vine has been part of their daily lives. But it's not just a tradition: it's a real commitment to producing meaningful champagne.
Initially winegrowers in Fèrebrianges (30 minutes from Épernay), Albert Bergère decided to start producing champagne in 1949 and created the A. Bergère brand. Bergère brand with a desire to cultivate vines, but also a passion for the terroir.
From 1986 onwards, André Bergère and his wife Brigitte extended the estate into the Petit Morin Valley, then later into the Côte des Blancs and Sézannais regions. Since 2014, André's grandson Adrien has taken up the torch, bringing his own touch thanks to his oenological training. As soon as he arrived, he tasted and vinified the juices from his parcels separately to develop parcel-based vinification on the estate.
As a result, he produces rarer cuvées, such as the cuvée "Les Clos" A.Bergère in a limited edition of 2100 bottles, a 100% Meunier extra-brut cuvée from an old vineyard planted in 1970.
