Regarding the Champagne Agrapart Avizoise 2019 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru
This 100% Chardonnay cuvée, the 2019 “Avizoise” from the Agrapart Champagne House, comes from the Robarts and Gros Yeux plots in Avize, selected for their similar geological profile. The soil features deeper layers of clay before the chalk begins.
For this cuvée, Pascal Agrapart opts for vinification and aging in demi-muids to best reveal the full complexity of the wine. Bottling is carried out without fining or filtration, and the wine is then aged on its lees in the estate’s cellars for more than 5 years.
This 2019 vintage reveals a dense, complex, and powerful champagne.
The Champagne Blanc de Blancs Avizoise offers a density and richness that is both gourmet and elegant. On the nose, it’s an explosion of flowers and white fruits like poached pear, with notes of dried fruit, almond, and pine. On the palate, the bubbles are elegant and delicate. This champagne possesses great mineral intensity; it is dense and rich, with a focus on fruit. It has a very long, mineral finish.
The charm of this cuvée pairs wonderfully with raw fish, or fish that’s just been steamed, and with truffled Brillat-Savarin.
