Regarding the Champagne Krug Grande Cuvée (172nd Edition)
An absolutely exceptional brut Champagne, Krug Grande Cuvée 172 is the result of a blend of 146 wines from 11 different years (from 2016 to 1998), around the 2016 harvest. The bottles then aged for 7 years in the cellars.
This bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée 172 is composed of 44% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier. The House reserve wines constitute 42% of the final blend, providing the essential roundness for each edition.
The range of aromas is exceptional. The nose reveals aromas of ripe citrus fruit, marzipan and gingerbread. The palate is expressive and elegant, with notes of hazelnut, nougat, fruit and citrus jelly. Pastry aromas carry us away, with almond, brioche and honey. A beautiful, long finish of candied fruit.
Once you have your bottle in hand, you can go further and reveal the history of each Krug bottle thanks to the Krug iD that appears on the back label of each bottle.
You can taste your 171st Krug Grande Cuvée on its own, for a memorable sensory journey or with an aperitif with Jabugo ham and mature Comté cheese. You can also serve it with oysters, shrimps, as well as desserts such as a tatin pie.
