Regarding the Champagne Castelnau Cuvée Hors Catégorie
The Cuvée HORS CATEGORIE, an expression of de CASTELNAU's mastery of Champagne, is truly unique in the panorama of great Champagne wines. Each edition of Cuvée HORS CATEGORIE is a unique, limited-edition blend, which does not respond to a repetitive blending model, but to the sole requirement of harmony and revelation of the exceptional wines that make it up.
This cuvée comes from the 1993 harvest, was bottled in 2013 and disgorged in 2022.
Fifteen different wines have been selected, aged for a year in oak barrels. 55% Pinot Noir, 17% Chardonnay, 28% Pinot Meunier, bring out the best of their personalities, revealed by the time spent in wood.
This cuvée celebrates the company's centenary, and each year makes reference to an outstanding mountain pass in the Tour de France.
Please note that only 600 bottles of this cuvée have been produced!
