Regarding the Champagne Barons De Rothschild Rare Collection 2012 magnum
Champagne Rare Collection 2012 from Maison Barons de Rothschild represents the quintessence of the Maison in a great vintage. The very limited production benefits from the same care as the greatest wines of the Rothschild family.
This 100% Chardonnay champagne is exclusively sourced from the « cuvée » of 4 Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Cramant, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.) Following a minimum of 8 years of raising on lees, and 1 year of rest after disgorgement, this cuvée unveils a very mineral nose, with citrus and hazelnut notes, followed by tonka bean, spices and evolving towards praline notes. The palate is of a great fineness. It is ample and develops iodine and saline notes, while the final is of a beautiful length.
This is a very harmonious champagne. This great wine of Champagne, with its low dosage (4 to 5 gr/l), is a real gastronomic wine which is delicious with a Norway lobster carpaccio, a turbot or veal medallion.
This rare champagne in magnum whose production is limited has a great aging potential. It is presented in its elegant wooden box.
