Regarding the Champagne Alfred Gratien Cuvée 565
The Cellar Master Nicolas Jaeger created Cuvée 565 according to the Soléra method. A blend enriched from year to year over 5 vintages : 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Champagne 565 has been bottled in 2012 following 6 years of raising on lees.
The result is a very harmonious champagne. 565 for 5 vintages, 6 years of raising, for your 5 senses. A rigorous grape selection, a vinification process in small oak casks as per the tradition, a voluntary limited production, no malolactic fermentation in order to preserve the very own nature of the wine and the terroir’s personality : the combination of every of these attentions lead to a unique and very qualitative champagne.
This cuvée unveils a beautiful and elegant color with yellow/green reflections. The seducing nose develops cooked fruits aromas : rhubarb, hazelnuts, acacia honey, praline, toast ans candied citrus fruits. The nose is complex, while the palate offers a creamy texture with pretty tannins, punctuated by an incredible liveliness. The texture is dense, almost unctuous. The final is powerful and persistent.
A perfectly mastered cuvée. 565 from Maison Alfred Gratien is a gastronomic wine, it is marvelous with a 24 months old parmesan, but also with a fish, a piece of veal or a poultry with chanterelle mushrooms. This cuvée is presented in its free casket.
