Regarding the Champagne Larmandier-bernier Vieille Vigne du Levant 2014 Grand Cru Extra-Brut
This Vieille Vigne du Levant 2014 Grand Cru Extra-Brut Champagne from LARMANDIER-BERNIER is made from very old Cramant vines planted on an exceptional terroir called "Bourron du Levant". The deep roots and diversity of the old vines contribute to the complexity of this Champagne.
Naturally cultivated to reach perfect maturity, this parcel-based champagne (from a single terroir) is aged on lees for 11 months, and then aged on laths for a further 8 to 9 years. Each bottle is disgorged 1 year before release, and the dosage is very low (2g/l) to better appreciate the balance and great length of this cuvée.
This 2014 vintage, alternating sun and rain, offers power with a beautiful mineral framework and an elegant finish.
The nose is complex and generous, both saline and spicy. The palate is beautifully complex, with a long, elegant finish.
This champagne is best enjoyed on its own as an aperitif, or with poultry, for example. It's best to take the time to let it open up, to appreciate it to the full. If you cellar it for at least two years, it will gain in depth.
