Regarding the Champagne Krug Grande Cuvée (170th Edition)
This absolutely exceptional champagne "Krug Grande Cuvée 170th Edition" is the result of a blend of 195 wines, from 12 different years, the youngest dating from 2014 and the oldest from 1998. The bottles then aged for 7 years in the cellar.
This bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée is composed from 51% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay and 11% Meunier. The reserve wines of the House constitute 45% of the final blend.
This is a champagne with the fullness and roundness that is typical and essential to each Krug Grande Cuvée Edition. The nose reveals aromas of marzipan, gingerbread, and ripe citrus. The palate is expressive and elegant with notes of hazelnut, nougat, barley sugar, fruit and citrus jelly. It is pastry-like with almond, brioche and honey. Very nice finish on candied fruits that stretches all the way.
Once you have your bottle in hand, you can go further and reveal the history of each Krug bottle thanks to the Krug iD that appears on the back label of each bottle.
You can taste your 170th Krug Grande Cuvée on its own, for a memorable sensory journey or with an aperitif with Jabugo ham and mature Comté cheese. You can also serve it with oysters, grilled shrimps, as well as desserts such as a carrot cake or a nice pie.
