Regarding the Champagne Krug Clos d'ambonnay 1998
Discover an extraordinary champagne from Krug, from a single vineyard of 0.685 hectares, in the heart of Ambonnay, entirely planted with Pinot Noir: the Clos d'Ambonnay 1998.
This singular, intense and pure champagne is the expression of a single grape variety: Pinot Noir, from a single plot and a single harvest, in this case 1998.
The 1998 Clos d'Ambonnay grapes are concentrated, very rich and have exceptional potential.
The robe is coppery and the bubbles are of great finesse. The nose is bold and reveals aromas of barley sugar, toast and caramel. On the palate, aromas of red fruits, licorice and tarte Tatin are discovered, with a lively acidity and a touch of salinity. The finish is long and elegant.
This full-bodied and energetic champagne, with a great vinosity, will sublimate lobsters, scrambled eggs with truffles, bellota ham or simply some shavings of old parmesan.
Only 4760 bottles were produced, and each one is housed in a luxurious wooden case.
