Cuvée UMAMI is issued from several particular climates carefully selected in the Great Growthsoil (terroir) of the House DE SOUSA.

This cuvée UMAMI is an Extra-Brut champagne 100% raised in oak barrels that leaves a soft and long-lasting sensation: simply inimitable! It's composed of 60% Chardonnay, and 40% of Pinot Noir (Côte des blancs and Montagne de Reims) from the 2012 harvest. 2012 : a year with very ripe and very concentrated grapes : a beautiful, rich and aromatic year !

The style of champagne of DE SOUSA has always been in a velvet texture : this notion of UMAMI discovered by the Japanese also mentions it : length, depth, velvet, minerality and sapidity.
Biodynamics strongly contributes to enhace UMAMI flavours by increasing the life of the soil. As in the land of the plots carefully selected for this cuvée, we can talk of consistency for this champagne generated by the natural elements of grapes issued from old vines (60 years old).

It reveals aromas of honey, cherry. This rare cuvée is available in limited quantity and offers us elegance, purity and minerality in a beautiful gift box!  

An exquisite champagne for an intense pleasure! It's better to wait a bit before drinking it and you can keep it for 10 to 20 years ! It will happily accompany seafood, japanese cuisine or even cheese.

Champagne De Sousa

De Sousa Champagne House is a family business for 3 generations. The vineyard is located on 11 hectares in the heart of the famous Côte des Blancs, terroirs classified as Grand Cru.

The elaboration of the champagnes is traditional, the harvest is done by hand on vines of which three quarters are more than 45 years old, which offers to the champagnes of the House De Sousa an extraordinary aromatic richness...

The work of the vineyard has always been done in the respect of the nature and the environment, and quite naturally, the House has passed in Biodynamy in 1999, and has been certified Organic in 2010.
