Cuvée 1522 vintage 2012 from Maison PHILIPPONNAT is a champagne made from Grands Crus built around the superb terroir of Ay. This exceptional cuvée and the 2012 vintage offers a grandiose champagne with a very nice concentration.

It is elaborated with 70% of Pinot Noir Grands Crus and 30% Chardonnay Grands Crus, partially vinified in wood cask and without malolactic fermentation in order to preserve the champagne’s freshness and to offer more complexity.

The nose is fresh, concentrated and precise, very representative of this beautiful 2012 vintage. It offers scents of sweet almond, with notes of candied lemon peel. The palate is fresh and pure. It reveals notes of spices, typical of the Ay terroir. The texture is chalky and the finsih is very mineral.

Being ample and acidulous, this cuvée is marvelous in this extra-brut dosage (4.25g/l). 8 years of cellar aging magnified this cuvée while retaining its original freshness.

This champagne is aimed to the greatest occasions and is perfect with seafood, grilled fishes, poultry, tandoori chicken and even caviar. Thanks to its great amplitude, it represents the ideal champagne to accompany your meal.
