This lovely rosé Effusion champagne from Maison Moussé Fils is rather unusual and very intense. In fact it’s made with red wine from one plot of Pinot Meunier grapes and aged in oak cask for 24 months (with cask aged of at leat 8 years). It is then blended with 8% of Pinot noir.
An unusually deep pink for a rosé champagne, with an abundance of tiny bubbles. The 92% of Pinot Meunier brings an extraordinarily fresh and fruity nose. The dominant aromas are of red fruit: wild strawberries and redcurrants, whilst on the palate the wine is round with lots of length.
This is a wonderful champagne to enjoy as an aperitif and it goes well with red meat and desserts made of red fruit.
You can enjoy it immediately or within 2 years.
