Founded in 1825, the House of Joseph Perrier is historic and unique. Located in Chalons-en-Champagne, it has cellars dug into the chalk hillside, 3kms in length, all on the same level, with some of the galleries dating back to Roman times. These cellars have the particular feature of being interspersed with chimneys or skylights which allow light down from above and which at their base have a reflector allowing natural light to reach the working galleries. Joseph Perrier has a beautiful 21-hectare vineyard in the heart of Champagne, on the right bank of the Marne around Hautvillers and Cumières. Family owned and run from the beginning, Joseph Perrier is today chaired by Jean-Claude Fourmon who expresses through his wines his quest for perfect balance.
