Regarding the Champagne Chartogne-taillet Chemin de Reims Extra-Brut

Cuvée Chemin de Reims from Maison Chartogne-Taillet is a Blanc de Blancs champagne which is mainly elaborated from Chardonnay. It is dosed as an Extra-Brut (4-5 gr/l) in order to rebalance the bubble’s aggressiveness and vigor, without hiding neither fattening the wine and its density.

This champagne is sourced from a vine planted on very warm "red" sandy soil. This specificity together with its South/South-West orientation provides ample, tannic, and powerful wines.

This champagne requires a long raising period in barrels, as the wine takes time to complete its fermentation. It can take up to two years before bottling, therefore, it can be enjoyed 4 years later.

These few years spent in the cellar were very beneficial. It's a marvelous champagne of terroir. It never fails to impress. Don't wait and discover this very original Blanc de Blancs !

Champagne Chartogne-taillet

Located in the center of the village of Merfy, it is a 100% family house, transmitted from generation to generation since 1870. This 11 hectare vineyard was naturally taken over in 2006 by Alexandre Chartogne.

By keeping artisanal methods and a vinification close to biodynamic, Alexandre Chartogne makes evolve the style of his champagnes towards parcel selections. The production is voluntarily limited, in order to guarantee year after year a constant quality, with wines coming from selected vintages, and an ageing of at least three years in cellar.
