Cuvée Sainte-Anne is a superb Brut ( without vintage ) champagne from Maison chartogne-Taillet. Its name comes from the protective saint of the village of Merfy, where is located chartogne-Taillet.
This champagne is elaborated from 3 grape varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier), blended in different proportions according to the year. Reserve wines (for 40%) are sourced from previous harvests and soften the strong character of younger wines.
Each plot is vinified differently with a process which is close to biodynamy, creating thus a unique and recognizable cuvée. Then this art of blending offers a very representative wine from Merfy.
A sugar dosage of 4 to 7 grams per liter allows to rebalance the vigorous bubbles without hiding the wine. This champagne develops then a crystaline texture, a roundness and a marvelous elegance...

The familiy Maison Chartogne is located in the heart of the village of Merfy, it is runed from a generation to another since 1870, and is transfered in 2006 to Alexandre Chartogne. The vineyard is composed of 11 hectares. In using craft methods and a vinification process which is very close to biodynamy, Alexandre Chartogne evolves the style of its champagnes towards a plot selection. The production is voluntary limited, in order to ensure a regular quality from a year to another, with wines elaborated from selected cuvées, and a minimum of 3 years of rasing in cellar. Don't wait and discover this champagne producer whose work has been rewarded with a star by the Guide des Meilleurs vins de France !
