Champagne H. BLIN embraces the Art of Champagne while remaining true to its remarkable character and style. Located in Vincelles, in the middle of the Marne Valley, Champagne H. BLIN primarily uses one of the most amazing varieties of the region: the Pinot Meunier.
This variety offers a unique and surprising taste with subtle freshness and fruitiness.
Located in Vincelles, in the Marne Valley opposite the town of Dormans, it covers an area of 130 hectares. Here the Pinot Meunier variety is king. It is renowned to produce structured wines, fine and fruity. The Cellar Masters of the Trade have known it for generations. This variety buds late and is known for its rustic character and adaptability within the Champagne area. The winemakers of Vincelles have their hearts set on their project to develop a 100% Pinot Meunier cuvee which will delight enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike. This Pinot Meunier cuvée, will be symbolic of the highest standards available from Vincelles.
In 1947, the withdrawal of the Trade from purchasing grapes from the winemakers of Vincelles in the post-war period of economic downturn, was the stimulus needed for Henri Blin, a winemaker born into a very ancient family of Vincelles, and 28 other winemakers to buy a press house of their own: Thus Champagne H. BLIN & Cie came into being…Champagne H.BLIN is a company of 110 grape-growers, eight generation of winemakers born into the home of Vincelles.
The terroir, the true value of Vincelles, also gives value to Champagne H. BLIN. Great care is brought to the vineyards as sustainable farming that prevents the use of chemicals, maintains the soil by ploughing and planting grass, and limits the loss of energy, fuels and water. We have not reached the time yet to have the certification in sustainable agriculture but we are getting there. Champagne H. BLIN is a member of the working group Magister, which is developed and followed by the C.I.V.C within the cooperative. Joining Magister, as well as creating an upstream and downstream system of traceability, is a sign of the change that is happening both in terms of technical tools and of controlling the raw material.
