The Blanc de Blanc 2008 from Alfred Gratien is 100% Chardonnay (exclusively sourced from Premiers and Grands Crus), singularly representing the nobility and the typical characteristics of the Alfred Gratien Champagnes.
A rigorous grape selection, vinification and aging process in small oak barrels in respect of the tradition, voluntary limitation of volumes, no malolactic fermentation, this is the spirit of this cuvée : respect for the grape and the soil personality.
This Blanc de Blancs is the advent of a passion for work associated with the permanent will of the House to develop exceptional products. Its elegant expression is still young and shows a true aging potential. This acidity is intense and of exceptional quality. The finish is impressive long (12 seconds) and reveals a chalky and salinity minerality. Silky, pure, this model of expression of chardonnay in Champagne seems indestructible.
Best served between 8 and 10°c, it is delicious when accompanied with seafood or Parmesan.

Champagnes from Alfred Gratien have a lengthy tradition and, disregarding the mass-produced ethos and fashions of modern times, still remain true to that tradition today. What you get is a "hand-crafted" champagne that represents quality and uniqueness. Champagnes from Alfred Gratien are vinified in oak barrels, as BOLLINGER or KRUG, and is produced to only 250 000 bottles per year. "I have always been of the opinion that champagne should be to wine what haute couture is to fashion." Alfred Gratien
